Dragan Homestead
Our Story
How a backyard garden became a full homestead

How It Started
We Wanted to Know Where Our Food Came From
The Dragan Homestead started the same way most homesteads do. Travis and Krystal wanted to know where their food came from – and more importantly, to raise their animals the right way. What began with a small backyard garden and a handful of birds has grown into a full operation we’re genuinely proud of.
We run the homestead together, full-time. Travis handles the animals, the infrastructure, and the heavy lifting. Krystal runs the kitchen – sourdough, preserves, eggs, handcrafted goods – and keeps the day-to-day moving. Everything here is a two-person operation.
No shortcuts, no industrial methods, no middleman. When you buy from us, you’re buying something we made or raised ourselves – and tested on our own family first.
The Flock
Our Animals
Every animal on the homestead is handled daily from hatch. When you get one of ours, it’s already used to people.
🦆
Muscovy Ducks
Our Muscovies are our specialty. Raised on pasture, handled daily from hatch. Available as ducklings, adults, and hatching eggs. Quiet, self-sufficient, and excellent foragers. Perfect for small farms, backyards, and breeding programs.
🐔
Chickens
Straight-run chicks raised in a home environment from day one. Hardy, curious, and well-started. Great for backyard flocks, hobby breeders, and small farms across Minnesota. We prioritize breeds that are friendly, productive, and easy to manage.
How We Work
What We Believe In
No Shortcuts
We don’t cut corners on feed, space, handling, or care. If we wouldn’t want it for our own animals, it doesn’t happen here.
We Use What We Sell
Every product we sell is something we make or raise for our own household first. We’re not making goods specifically to sell – we’re sharing what we already make.
Honest and Direct
We’ll tell you what’s available, what’s coming, and what we don’t have. No overselling, no vague “contact us.” We respond quickly and keep it straight.
